Job Description: 

As one of the largest oil and gas producers globally and the worlds leading exporter of LNG Qatar Petroleum (QP) is committed to the highest standards for health, safety and the environment (HSE) throughout its operations. QP reinforced the commitment to HSE with the recent reorganization and consolidation of HSE activities and the establishment of a direct line of reporting from Corporate HSE to the Minister of Energy & Industry. To achieve strategic HSE objectives QP’s HSE Regulation & Enforcement Directorate (DG) are seeking to hire a Specialist Clean Energy.

Successful candidate should be able and qualified to
• Develop clean energy (natural gas / LNG, hydrogen, bio-fuel) studies related to greenhouse gases management from the various sources in relation to power, and energy industries.
• Perform policy analyses of all clean energy technologies with relation to health, safety, sustainable development and environment (HSSE), State's procedures and regulations and perform strategic analysis for alternative energy challenge areas.
• Provide input relating to clean energy solutions to mitigate negative impacts within the State prepare environmental impacts reports with respect to the use of clean energy to support and safeguard the corporate environmental policies.
• Develop strategic objectives and long range business plans ensuring perfect alignment with State's plans as regards HSE and emission reduction issues and identify potential HSE related business opportunities. Prepare environmental impacts reports with respect to the use of clean energy to support and safeguard the corporate environmental policies
• Identifies and uses tools (like statistical analysis and financial analysis) to forecast new business opportunities and anticipates challenges in business improvement and plans for overcoming the challenges.
• Initiates Qatar's clean energy programmes and frameworks where natural gas and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) use are enhanced and advanced for technological purposes and delivers strategic and substantive support to operators involved in clean energy projects and convene meetings related to clean energy with stakeholders including government, industry and intellectual group.
• Develops short, medium and long term strategic plans for the Directorate to ensure optimum functioning of the Directorate.

Required experience and expertise
• Bachelor of Engineering degree plus formal training in computer operations
• Minimum 10 years in Hydrocarbon Production and Processing Industry including (Upstream/Downstream operations).
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in HSSE alongside extensive knowledge of clean energy resources and technologies as also the industry structures.
• Experience in international development, corporate responsibility, sustainable development, environmental studies, policy studies, economics, or business preferable
• Ability to formulate and recommend corrective actions, as well as excellent research and analysis skills with proven ability to deliver to deadlines.
