I am currently working alongside an independent oil and gas company with both onshore and offshore operations across the globe ranging from Northern Europe to Africa and from South America to the Middle East. Due to a recent acquisition the company is now looking to recruit Safety Engineer to be site based in the South West. Reporting to the HSE Manager you will be responsible for the provision of safety engineering support operations including ensuring compliance with UK QSHE legislation, codes of practice, guidelines, industry standards and best practice. Key Accountabilities will include: Lead / undertake risk assessments in support of operations, projects and drilling including but not limited to, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL and TRM, in order to ensure that risks to people, environment, assets and company are reduced to ALARP. Undertake technical safety studies including QRA, FMEA and Fire and Explosion modeling. Commission and manage technical safety studies from competent contractors Develop and maintain COMAH case Carry out necessary reviews and interactions with regulatory authorities. Provide coaching and guidance to engineering and project teams to ensure that all design work is undertaken in line with good safety engineering practice and with company procedures. Liaise with regulatory bodies on matters relating to the safety and environmental aspects of engineering design. The successful individual will have an engineering degree and ideally be a chartered engineer with a minimum of 5 years experience of safety engineering in the process industries.
