RPS Laboratories specialise in the analysis of hazardous substances, workplace, ambient and atmospheric pollutants, stack emissions, asbestos containing materials and biological samples. The RPS Laboratory in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, provides analytical services to the environmental services industry. It specialises in the analysis of pesticide and persistent organic pollutants, an area of growing importance as these can cause significant harm to people and the natural environment. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quality Manager to join a busy environmental laboratory who specialise in delivering expert analytical services for a variety of clients. You will ensure the analysis of environmental samples produces accurate and timely data for our clients. It will be the responsibility of the Quality Manager to implement and control the laboratory quality system. Working closely with the Laboratory Operations Manager you will recommend opportunities and methods to improve the quality and productivity of the laboratory.
You will ensure that the laboratory performs its tests in line with the company’s quality system by conducting audits and setting deadlines for actions and ensuring the standard operating procedures are written in line with UKAS/ISO/MCERTs guidelines.
You should have experience of carrying out a similar role in a UKAS accredited laboratory and have a Chemistry degree, with excellent communications skills and the ability to work with and influence staff at all levels.
