Our client, a leading consumer goods manufacturer, has a formidable portfolio of well-recognised brands, and has seen considerable growth in a difficult market. The company now seek a Group Health, Safety and Environment Manager to lead on the development of policies and standards across the organisation. This newly created role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to:

Provide leadership and guidance on the development of the group’s HSE strategy, and subsequent policies

Drive communication and implementation of the strategy and policies across operational divisions and technical teams
-
Act as a subject matter expert for compliance with HSE legislation and regulations within the countries of operation
-
Identify and shape targets and objectives for HSE with scope for continuous improvement, in line with the CR programme
-
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with regulatory bodies and government agencies
-
Lead on delivery of data for use in CR and senior executive reports
-
Manage compliance with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 management systems in accordance with company policies
-
Develop energy and waste strategies which deliver cost savings across the company
-
Advocate best practice and continuous improvement, as well as leading corporate auditing of management systems
The selected individual will demonstrate the following:
-
Strong track record of delivering a HSE programme within a consumer goods or manufacturing environment across EMEA
-
Understanding and awareness of global and local HSE issues
-
Influencing and behaviour change across a multi-site organisation
-
Sound project and people management experience
-
Delivery of compliance across OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 systems
-
Chartered status of IOSH, IIRSM and/or IEMA
-
NEBOSH Diploma and HSE Auditor qualification, along with relevant degree (or equivalent) qualification
