 A specialist construction contractor based in Swindon is seeking a company H&S Manager to deliver all of their health and safety requirements across their UK wide portfolio. The company has a modern outlook to health and safety and is keen to recruit an ambitious individual with an engaging approach to fully utilise the support of regional H&S representatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a health and safety professional to use a mix of strategic and practical experience to develop both personally and professionally within a growing company. The Role: - Ensuring that the company health, safety and environmental policies and standards are up to date with current legislation - Identify areas of non-compliance and communicate solutions effectively across the company from site to senior management level - Deliver reports to the Board - Provide advice, solutions and strategies to the senior management; taking control of all implementation - Develop and implement initiatives to maintain a positive culture with the organisation with respects to HSE performance - Carry out site inspections, method statements and risk assessments - Maintain reporting systems for all accidents and near misses and ensure appropriate levels of investigation and controls are implemented to prevent re-occurrence. - UK wide travel with some overnight stays The Candidate: - Diploma (NEBOSH or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety - CMIOSH or Grad IOSH and actively working towards chartership - Ideally experience as a standalone company Health and Safety Manager - Construction health and safety background is essential - Decisive and logical thinker with a problem solving approach - An understanding of HSG 65 and/or OHSAS 18001 |
